The Christian must Become Christ

Key Text: 2 Corinthians 2:14-16a

But thanks be to God, who … through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of [Christ]. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.

Theme:

A Christian wears many hats: servant, evangelist, church member, disciple. But at the core of his being, a Christian is fundamentally "Christ-like." We are being transformed into the image of our Lord. We are starting to look like him. In fact, according to Paul, we are even starting to smell like him!

Application:

It is not primarily good or dedicated people that God is after. He wants people who are Christ-like. Do you smell like Jesus to the world? To yourself? Only those who have his aroma can have his blessing.
