Tree of Death

Key Text: Romans 6:6-7

We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin – because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Theme:

Every ill in the church - every weakness and sin - can be traced back to Christians failing to understand that they died at the cross with Jesus and must continue to die with him daily. We take our deaths much too lightly. If we really understood the cross in our lives, it would bring revolution to the church, not to mention revival.

Application:

Have you understood that you died with Jesus on the cross? Have you committed to dying daily for him? Is it true for you that you no longer live, but Christ lives in you? Can you really say you are dead to the world and alive to Jesus?
