If We Would Put God First
If we would put God first and make our religion God-centered,
then we must:
- Quit telling people what we stand against, and start
telling them what God stands for.
- Quit telling people not to use filthy language, and start
giving them reasons to praise God.
- Quit telling people that their addictions make them dirty,
and start telling them that God wants to be their only addiction.
- Quit calling our brothers and sisters hypocrites, and
start praying with them that God will forgive all of our hypocrisies.
- Quit telling people they are condemned, and start telling
them about God’s saving grace.
We don’t need to convince people of their sins. We need
to tell them the good news of Jesus Christ, and God will convict them in
their hearts. While we’re at it, we need to let God convict us as well.
If we would truly put God first and make our religion
God-centered, then we must start doing what we have claimed to do all along.
We must speak where God speaks, and keep silent where God is silent.
