Compassionate Christ

Key Text: Matthew 22:36-40

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Theme:

Jesus loved people. If there is any one aspect of his character that convicts us that Jesus is divine, it is his compassion for people.

Application:

Accept the fact that Jesus loves you. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done - if Jesus can love the characters we read about in the gospels, he can love you.
